01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Drawn by the aroma of Mou, a rich sandwich loaf made with generous amounts of butter, visitors line up early outside Bread, Espresso & in Jingumae. To taste the signature bread at its most indulgent, the French toast is an undeniable centerpiece, thoroughly soaked in eggs and milk before baking. A crisp, golden exterior gives way to a velvety, molten center, enriched further with a drizzle of syrup or honey. Morning visitors can also opt for a hearty plate accompanied by salad, deli sides, bacon, and yogurt.

For a straightforward taste of the bread's natural sweetness and airy crumb, simple morning toast served with butter and honey is another perennial favorite. Come lunchtime, attention turns to pressed paninis, crisped on the press until lightly crunchy outside while staying pleasantly chewy within. Fillings range from prosciutto paired with creamy stracciatella to basil cream cheese with tuna and vegetables, each available as a set with deli sides and salad.

True to the second half of its name, the café serves dense, concentrated espresso pulled from its own proprietary roast. The drink menu spans velvety cappuccinos and caffe lattes to iced cappuccinos shaken with cold milk into a refreshing froth. In the afternoon, the Mou no Mimi Tiramisu—crafted with trimmed crusts steeped in bitter espresso—makes an ideal pairing for lingering over coffee.

Alongside indoor seating, an open-air terrace welcomes guests, and dogs are permitted in the outdoor area. The register operates primarily on cashless payment methods, including credit cards and various mobile code apps, so preparing a card or mobile payment in advance makes ordering swift.
